WHO IS THE NU CHIC?

The Nu Chic is an independent recording artist, singer/songwriter, visionary and producer known for her commercial and mainstream appeal but standalone sound. In comparison to various commercially known artists, she is incomparable. However, if Prince's sound and Tina Turner's vocals made a baby, that is The Nu Chic. Anticipating the release of 48: From Dark 2 Light ("48") is The Nu Chic's first official EP scheduled for indie release in 2022. "48" is a compilation of original music that introduces The Nu Chic's signature pop sound she coins simply, "genre fusion". The EP is futuristic pop that is uplifting and inspirational. The first single off the EP is #higher, streaming on all platforms today, #higher is an anthem song that is upbeat, bright, catchy, inspirational and laced with afrobeat--issa bop and a vibe.

 

Too secular for Contemporary Christian and too Pop for Gospel, The Nu Chic supersedes traditional Christian music and alternative Pop, carving out a niche lane of her own. The message is most certainly in the music which can easily become controversial during an era where every mainstream artist looks and sounds exactly the same.

 

The Nu Chic's sound is too big to be confined in any box and it is her agenda to keep evolving her sound so that the world gives chase but never catches up. The Nu Chic's goal as an artist, producer and music executive is to shatter glass ceilings, tear down walls obstructing creative and evolving music and leveling the playing field for artists globally. Thereby changing the narrative for women in music and paving a road that brings success without objectifying or the sensualizing of an artist. She believes for music to truly evolve, there must be a platform where all music artists can defy genre, age, gender, image and sound and be seen, heard, experienced and appreciated as an artist.
